Is it safe for North Indians to visit or live in Bombay (Mumbai , Bambai) ?

I haven't been back to Bombay since 2000 and i was wondering after watching in the media if it was safe for North Indians to visit or live in Bombay as the Shiv Sena is at war with non Marathi speaking people particularly Hindi speaking North Indians.

How bad is it ? Is it like Germany under nazis where every Jew was required to wear a star then subsequently killed or tortured. I wonder if that will be the next step the anti Hindi agitators will take ?

LoL... It's funny. But, on a serious note, if it's in the hands of Thakeray family, they will never shy away making Maharashtra another Germany.

Unfortunately, it's the Indian judiciary and Police that lacks the will to tackle these 'Gundas'. How dare someone could throw stones or damage someone else's property in a free India, where you're allowed by law to adhere to your fundamental rights.

Bombay is as dangerous for North indians as Delhi or baglore or Calcuta or any other major metro..

Regionlism exists everywhere in India.. Bombay is the financial capital so it get a lot of focus when such things happen..

I am sure a Sikhs who have seen the anti sikh riots can ask the same about delhi .. or Tamils in Banglore..

They are 'preserving their culture' all these foreigners in mumbai, diluting the marathi manus legacy. Changing names are not enough one has to defend the culture. Or else Maharashtrians will become a minority in their own place. Raj tackrey seems to be a strong maharashtrian leader like his uncle. Just what Maharashtra needs to keep the Marathi Manus land safe from being taken over by biharis, gujjus etc.

Actually its pretty safe and thriving. Atleast for now. My immediate family is in mumbai. Visit today just to be sure. Tomorrow...one never knows
