If you are looking for a good mechanic who charges reasonably, visit the wolfdala auto garage at Wolfdale road (mavis+ Dundas). The place is owned by Azhar, who has over many years of experience, back home.

You can find the phone number in the phone book. If you can't pls send me an email.

He is my mechanic - his charges are reasonable and he's a real decent chap.

Heard some bad stories about Canadian Tire workmanship, support and Customer service. also have heard stories about them scaring a customer into changing lots of stuff in the vehicle. Anyone knows better ?

I'd say that it depends on the service center.

Look at the APA investigations from http://www.apa.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK

This is what I found for Canadian tire in ontario. Scroll to the relevant section.

CD's,
I own a Toyota Corolla VE. I had ordered online tires from Costco. While ordering there were 2 sizes available and the website tole me to choose one which was already in the car. What was in the Car was 175 but only Winter tires were available in 175 and all season tires were available in 185 size (width of the tires in Millimetres). I did not see what tire was in the car and thought that since it was all season tires, it should be 185 and ordered 185. Today i found that the tires in my car was 175 and 175 all season was not available in Costco.
While ordering , the website told that if it was a wrong order they will refund only $44 out of the $388 bill.
Can the 185 fit into the rim of a 175? Can Toyota corolla owners give me a feedback. I googled but could not find a suitable reply.

Call Toyota help desk or any dealer.

You can call costco customer service and they should be able to help you.

Cd's,
Just wanted to state the realities of ordering tires in costco.
Costco (in its etobicoke warehouse) installs tires on just 30 cars a day. The store opened up at 9:00 am today and i arrived at 9:20 am to see 8 people infront of me. WHen 2 had been served, It was announced that they had reached the quota for the day and asked the rest in line (for those who came for tire replacement) to come tomorrow. Even if i was the 20th person in the list , I could expect to get my car only around 2:00 or 3:00 pm. There was a guy behind me who told me that this was the 3 rd. week that he had come and that they had sent him back.
Costco Tire installation would be useful for only those who are unemployed (so that they can come mon-fri) and also for those who have 2 cars (1 car to be reparied and 1 car to take you home- driven by your spouse).
I am going to demand my money back and install tires in Canadian Tire or Costco. The CSR rep. Who called my office to tell me that the Tires that i had ordered arrived said " Come when ever you want to install it". What a bunch of liars.....

Sidenote : SS-> Since you often visit Costco, Your take / comments on this procedure.
