In the letter I have received it's written "your state police certificate and FBI certificate".

For FBI certificate use the website http://www.fbi.gov" rel="nofollow">LINK You will get all information.

For state police certificate, u have to send the fingerprints and fees to the state police like in our case it's california deptt of justice.

Finger printing is done in some US post offices also. Get the finger printing in any such authorised entity and send by post to FBI.

I am a canadian PR currently working in Canada. My wife had stayed in US with me for a year (before I moved to Canada) and now she is in India. I am applying for her PR and need to get a Police
certificate from FBI (Since she stayed in US more than 6 months).

Could somebody please share with me the procedure of how to get the US Police certificate from FBI while she is in India?
1. How should she get her finger prints done in India?
2. How should we obtain the police certificate for her stay in India also?

We are currently in india and need to request for FBI fingerprint record.

Does anyone have faced similar situation? Any help or guidance how to request this and get the fingerprints done on FD-258 card?

You can downloand and print the form

http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/fprequest.htm

You can get the finger prints done at the local police station or any private investigators. Not sure if that is a must or not. In our case, we gave a private detective agency Rs.750 each for the fingerprint (Rip Off!!!) and my wife's got rejected by FBI. Next time, we took it ourselves and send it back and they took it.
