I have applied for canada GC in 2004 at new delhi, india. But its taking many many years mite be 2010 to receive a decision.
Rite knw Iam in US. If i reapply freshly in US for canda GC without withdrawing the file which I applied in India. will it cause any problem ? Can i apply at US also ?
As transfer of file will take long time. I thought about it. Kindly advice. Thanks !!
I do not think you can apply more than once for Canadian immigration at the same time

it is nice to be important..but it is more importanat to be NICE
I did same, while I was in US.
I applied for canada immigration in India and later I have moved to US. The procedure was faster and different at that time bcoz it was before 9/11
I have hired lawyer and transfer my file from india to US. Stayed for 3 years which helped me to save enough money for canada's settlement requirement and when time line was apporching almost at the end in passport for landing date, I have moved with good amount of saving in canada and that have helped me to settle faster in canada.
You can do same, however I am not sure but you hve to stay in US atleast for 2 years to transfer your file.. or something which called status in US...
means.. lots of ppl were coming to US on travel or business, use to apply from usa..or student.. and move to canada.. they have changed the rule after 9 11 .. u have to atleast stay in the country for certain years to obtain permanent residentship requirement and then you can apply for canada immigration..however again i m not sure what is the 'rule' for transfering the file...best thing I can recomment get the good lawyer..or get detail by calling CIC in US or from CIC web site.
One thing i can guide you which is best way is transfer you file in US (if you know you will able to stay in US for certain years...u are not temp.. over there)..and then save money for future ...u will need it here.
No point in siting india and wait for 5-7 years if you have US option.
