have applied for PR skilled in june 2004. got file no in September. the embassy says it will take apprx 4 yrs for it to come through. i am 30 yrs old and single. it is frustrating to wait that long. i plan to study when i come anyway so if i apply now as international student for study permit will the embassy give me a study permit?? or will they refuse me visa as i have applied for PR. I am a manager in an MNC in Delhi and have travelled to the UK & USA(10yr B1/b2) in the last year so i am not a potential illegal immigrant. Pls advice. also if i apply to study in the US will the US embassy refuse me a visa because of Canada PR application???

You can apply for the study permit - canada as long as you prove them that you will return back to your country after your studies and if your immigration is not approved. This is just a formality we have to deal with.

And USA embassy has nothing to do with Canadian PR application.

thanks for the reply indian guy. i asked about the US embassy cause my passport is stamped with canada PCC. police clearance certificate. so anyone who goes thru my passport can see that i have shown intent to migrate which is not viewed favorably by any embassy i believe???
also between studying in vancouver and Montreal...which is the better place to study?? i do not know french.
does anyone know of good cheap study options in management or related fields at masters level? ideally without gmat or gre
