Hi,
I am landing at Vancouver tomorrow(4th March 2007) and want to know from CD members about settlement fund.I am planning to carry Cashiers check worth $6000 and then show Bank statement of $15000 (also letter from bank)and I assume that this is good enought but somebody told me that showing bank statement is not enough.I am landing from Los Angeles for a day and then returning to Los Angeles.
Please answer.

I did same what you are planning. I carried about US$3000 in cash & traveller cheques for a family of four.

I had shown print-out of my bank balances (Outside Canada), ATM cards and Credit card to immigration officials at Toronto airport. I explained them that I would stay in Canada for one month only. They accepted it.

I think you also may not have any problem.
