Hi All,

I have got PR and am planning to land in Toronto along with my wife and son in Aug. As per the CIC's rule we would have to show POF around 16K. My question is, do we need to carry this entire 16K in cash/TC to show as POF or can I carry 3K in cash and for the rest, show in my indian bank statement? Please confirm.

Thanks

Cash / draft / TC combination is the best.
once you enter india, you can send the money back to your Indian bank account.

I carried TC and minimal cash to Canada once I got my PR but the authorities never me to show is to them just I had to tell them verbally how much money I was carrying then.

But having the money in your bank account in India is definitely not a good idea.

Cheers

You'll need to show in the form of draft, TC, cashier's check, etc. Cash to the amount of 16k is not a good idea and I don't believe showing a bank statement is enough.

I believe your use of code's POF/POE/PR/CIC/TC has led to your thread getting ignored. If you expect an answer, be more specific in details. As of now, it looks like a confusing question. Its in your best interest to clarify your question to get a appropriate (& correct) answer..

YES.........all those abbreviated acronyms immediately turned off forum members.
