Hi , Thanx for reading.
Well i am a new immigrant and wanted to know.

what are the other alternatives.
Can i show my property documents and its worth ?
Please read through the whole page and at the bottom you will see the comprehensive list of "Proof of Funds" that they will accept.
I am sure that they accepted the proof of funds in what ever form that you had when you first filed in your application or there after.
That should be sufficient prior to departure. Upon arrival here in Canada, is another instance that they are looking for a secondary proof. Such as cash on your person, which is disposable cash. The maximum you can carry is $9999 a dollar less than the maximum. If it is that sum then, you will have to declare and MAY have to pass scrutiny. So limit it to the sum that you now intend carrying. The balance could be in any other form of negotiable securities, with you.
Cash the same after opening of a bank account, through your own account.
Others on this board who have been arriving can tell you if they have accepted what you are asking. Some might have got waved through without a proper scrutiny. Please wait for confirmation from those who arrived.
Hope this helps.
Freddie.

Side note: Upon second reading, they should accept your bank balances that you have in India at your disposal, awaiting transfer. Your $5000.00 should suffice for the start. (Please read through once more)
