Only China? All IT majors (TOP 6 of world) are trying to reorganize their structures as per Indian IT model. Indian IT model is considered to be most sucessful .

Accenture and IBM has already changed their India Organization structure as per Indian Model, other majors are following it up.

manjeet,
I was referring to certain people who are frustrated with the system we have back home.

For example why do most people who are well educated in india immigrate to canada and the US / europe to drive a taxi cab, work in 7 eleven, safeway or superstore Why cant you do this back home????
Why dont some desis put in the effort to make something in life..... and for gods sake grow up??

I agree with balaq8. I visited India after 5 years and I was expecting lot of improvements but found nothing. Living conditions are deteriorated everywhere in India. India is plagued with Lots of problems like pollution, no roads, no power, no safe drinking water, inflation, and corruption.
We should not compare ourselves with China.China is way to ahead.

Another thing is that we are not ready to accept that we are not progressing or we have problems.I am not being negative.

Regards

yes it is true...there is no comparison between china-india...a communist country has galloped years ahead of us....developing few roads here and there is no sollution.....cleanliness is what we dont have any relation with .....cities are stinking...slums are increasing everywhere.....corruption is in every nook and corner....the problem is ...very few people wants to work for the upliftment of the country.....money is master here.....once a chinese told me in middle east that a chinese CEO uses his car only during duty hours....after that even if goes to a party he uses a bycyle...to save fuel!!!honesty are hardly rewarded.....castism in the jobs has only brought inefficiency.....high salary people are very less in number...to change the fortune of the country....need is to change the attitude....and that starts with the motivation....here still a boss of a company talk to his subbordinates.....like a GORA sahab.....considering them as his servants..not co-workers.....only finding faults in them....and abusing them.....women co workers are always in danger of exploitation.....there are too many rats in the country eating up the resources mecillesly.....friends to bring the country in the forefront......its WE THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE TO CHANGE...FROM TOP TO BOTTOM...we have to be honest towards the country.....by working honestly....its our duty also....it is really painfull... a small nation like thailand has grown ahead.....and we feel jubilant when we a get a single medal in olympics....we feel proud of tennnis, cricket stars...when they win a single match even.....because winning is not our hobby....but still there are many people in the country who are only waiting to be motivated to run in the race.....one big start will make all the difference....we must bring out the talent in evry person...whatever skill he has.....we always cry for growing population ...that can still be turned into an asset.....we forget that there are 200 billion hands to work......only thing required is MOTIVATION.......and im waiting for that motivation since years.....

Am I missing something here ? All I wanted to convey was we should not shy away from our problems. We should be open to criticism and understand why we lag (if we lag). That's all. We shouldn't be crying when someone says "Indians good for cheap roadside garage". There is a lot of merit to that comment.

In response to your comments above, the answer is quite simple. We have to understand the fundamentals. Mojority of the people want to have good life for themselves and their families. Nobody is here for Canada or India. Its pure self interest. People working in India willingly or unwillingly are not doing a favour to India. They are working for themselves and that's the best option for them at the time. Same is true for people working outside India. I am not saying that we dont' have social responsiblity but again bases of social responsibility originates with self interest.

We don't drive cab or work in subway in India because we can do better. Why should I be driving a cab when I can come here and make more money? If cleaning gutters in India would give me $ 100 K, I will clean it. Mantra is very simple, what is best, acceptable option available to me.

Some food for thought: Nationalism has roots in self interests.

in India most English language media are writing aginst the indian and showing every tiem the bad image of india.
this will very rarly happend in develop coutry.

And on car issue I am disagree with TOI author bcso as my point of view CAR is not needed in India. evry part of india is connected with Public Bus transport and Public Rail so i don't think we need car.
in western coutry they need car bcos of their cold weather and they develop their road and other system as per their wearther. but in indian weather is good even you can drive two wheller 12 months through out the year and save time and petrol alsobcos all are driving alone .

our indian company want R &D in two wheller and rail bus then car.
bcos in india car is luxury not a nessacity .
but in develop coutry car is nessacity so they spend too much money on their.

china achive all this in 35 year and india achive in 15 year why they are com[paring this . they are communist and india is democracy.......
this is the just like comparing donky and horse......

India has population of 100 million and other develop coutry has 1/10 or less then that (except USA) so is obvious that for samll people they can do in small time but india can't .
and all revolution take time................

I am beleive in compition. why should there is patent and protection.?
if you protect your invension then protect your self if somebody copy it then why are you blaming them instead why they are not looking to protect by thier own.
for example.......all world is talking about patented drug and genric drug.....but look in the dyes and pigment (chemical ) market they are in same chemical business but they are protecting their invention by them self. there is not such fighting like drug.

Business bottom line is profit and for that every compnay can do any thing....

but the the peoples need Food, Cloths and shelter then all other comes.

It's like saying why should we have locks? and further if you have one and someone breaks it, don't blame the guy with hammer instead blame yourself for weak lock. It will be tough world to live in I guess.

Having said that, I don't say that Patent is all good. Patent in current form is certainly pinching. It leads to monopoly and common man suffers.

I think Patent should be for a short period. Where the inventor is able to recover money and at the same time make some profit. After that it should open to all. Something similar to Toll Roads. Make roads collect toll and give it to government and free to public. (I am not referring to 407, where they are making profit within 5 years and will continue for another 94 years).

Another alternative would be classifying items which cannot be patented. But that would discourage innovation in those items..
