Lately, I've noticed a few posts specifically regarding long distance to India from different members. The posts are obviously from owners or employees of these companies but are masquereded as "recommendations" stemming from personal use.

I'm not sure what it takes to get across a simple guideline that we do not allow advertising on Charcha posts! We have an entire free classifieds section dedicated to just this.

Then there's other posts where someone is expressing their displeasure at other phone companies. Again, its difficult to figure out if these are authentic complaints OR posts from competitors trying to defame companies.

So going forward, here's a couple of simple rules

1) If you have an issue with a phone company, you are free to voice your issue however you will NOT name the phone company. Members who are interested may contact you via PM or email to find the name of the company, however that MUST remain a personal communication and not a broadcast. This is in line with our general policy on voicing complaints.

2) If you're happy with your phone company and would like to recommend it to others, you can post the recommendations along with the name of the company where
a) You ONLY post this once. Don't start multiple posts.
b) You write an objective post stating the rates of the phone company without criticising other companies.

Any posts that do not comply and come across as advertising will automatically be deleted AND repeat offenders banned.

I would also like to request members not to use the services of a company that is not complying to the above and abusing the charcha section.
