S'up folks,

Jes' thought I'd revive this thread.

Yesterday was Diwali, a great day! The evening was superb.

We went to see "The Police". Now the best part and the first sign of Lakshmi is that it was not all sold out. We had tickets to the 300 level and when we reached there , that section was closed off as not too many seats were sold and they upgraded us to the 100 level right os so close to the stage. It was amazing.

The opening band comprising of Sting's son was cool to set the mood.

But when "The Police" came on everyone stood up as if in deference to Gods and they broke into "Message in a bottle" and the crowds kept on their feet throughout most of the concert.
Lotsa good tunes were played. Walkin' on the Moon" "DDO DOO DOO Dah dah dah- great jugalbandi with the audience on that one.

Ended the first set with Roxanne- too maha!

Then they came on for another encore set with "So lonely" "Every breath you take" "Next to you"

Real dada of a concert!

Just 3 musicians with their instruments making fine music. No gimmicks, no fancy lighting, fireworks- just plain music like back in the day.

Amazing!

Even had a lady who came over to me to ak if I was American Indian (nothing new)- real free spirit. The whole audience vibes was so cool too. No hang ups.
Nice Nice.

Graet way to spend Diwali.
The butkia Andy was just so amazing with his guitaring. Stu great with the drums and of course Sting!

Nothing fancy- just like when they played at Rang Bhavan way back in the 80s in Mumbai but you could feel they were more seasoned!Grassroots stuff!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

May Lakshmi shower you with all the best in fortune.

Apun ko to pahila jalak dikahi hai usne. Upgrade in seats!

Now if only I win tonite's lottery!

Bringing this up from the ashes again.

Even though I am a classic rock head I attended the Spice Girls concert on Sunday to do a write up.
Man some concert!. They say Canada is full of 'buddas' so to speak, but the crowd at the concert would have belied that. Methinks I was the only budda there. Tons of young energetic folks, mainly gals, there. And the way they backed the Spice Girls- too much!

The Spice Girls even said " Toronto- you are our greatest fans in the world"- Something they have not said in any other city they played so far.

At one point the performers led four guys on leashes like dogs during the song 'Holler"and you shudda heard all the gals scream in approval! Girl Power like ne'er seen before. Pure Maha!

At another point the famous five did a simple act like hold hands and walk down the apron that extended into the auditorium and the crowd went wild! Like too much, yaar!

They were just too amazing!Woth the time and no opening act- just the meat!
And Indian Stretchable Time eh- the concert was due to stat at 7.30 and they started at 8.30 right thru to around 10.15. No encore- grody like to the max!

Their ultimate hit- Wannabe- was the penultimate song.

Real hard driving music all the time!

Kya action!

For those who went to the Ozzy concert a week or so ago. Please post your reactions, if you will. Thanks

Looks like the woodstock club here. You missed Bob Dylan.

Long time ago I went to a Slade concert and later to Kiss. I am am still getting over it. Then I was posted to Dubai, suprisingly we had groups like Meat Loaf, Radio, Sting, Bjork, Pordigy, Mos Def and Massive Attack come over.

With age I seem to leaning more towards Dub or new age.
