Dear all,

Could you please advise important points to be considered when going for first time? e.g.

- whether to open bank account/apply for SIN or not, if intention is to return after few days (tax implications?)
- whether to include maximum items in list of items to follow?
- whether to make arrangements for accommodation before landing? which guest house is considered best?

Any other points you can think of.

Many thanks.

Regards

It's better to have SIN number, but bank account is not necessary.

List whatever you expect to bring along when moving finally.
It's ok to list all household goods that you own currently.

Depends on how long you plan to stay.
If it's only a weekend or a few days, check into a hotel and save yourself the trouble of hunting for accomodations.
All hotels provide standard ameneties as per their star level and you can be assured of what you are getting.

Good luck !

Yes, that point of view is correct as well.
The only reason I said that it's better to have SIN is that when you move finally and get a job, you can't get paid until the company has your SIN.
If you already had your SIN, you are all set to go.
