it seems lot of people are intrested in moving to USA why dont we have a thread say this one where in all the employement agencies , job search sites , details regarding visas and jobs in USA and various other resourses for USA , the ground realities there are post

i am not talking about americandesi.com

but since USA seems to draw a lot of attention we should also concentrate on it.

Seems like a nice idea. I too am going to be getting my Canadian citizenship soon and would like to explore opportunities in the US. But there doesn't seem to be any response to this thread that you started. Try changing the words in the subject so that it becomes clearer what this thread is intended for. Call it Working in the US as Canadian citizen or something like that.
BOL!

"ground reality" stems after ground zero - Americans have become extremely wary of foreigners, including canadian immigrants... meaning non-white canadians. From experiences of friends and family who live in border areas (Buffalo and Windsor), I'm hearing horror stories about nightmarish TN visa processes. People are being sent back on just small technicalities. I didn't want to believe them, but last week when a family member had to go for a meeting to the US and they sent him back all the way because he failed to carry his "original" transcripts with his plane ticket , I was **really** dumbstruck. This person works for a US company in Canada, and goes regularly for biz meetings to his HQ (once every three or four months I believe). It seems they asked him what work he did there and he needed to show "notarized official degrees" showing that he was capable of performing the work he said he was going to perform. He said I don't carry my qualifications around in my wallet all day and they sent him back! How ridiculous can that get? That's not the first story I've heard about the US immigration authorities not letting Canadian Desis in. It seems they are finding faults or pretexts for every little thing, no idea why. From the way things are going, I think racial profiling for Canadian immigrants is the next step to their immigration policies. Be warned!

And also, if u send out resumes, don't mention yr citizenship on there unless they ask you specifically. Otherwise, u might not get called if they know you are not a US citizen.

Companies don't want to go thru the hassles of doing visas for people anyone, and if u tell then the TN1 is just a very basic visa form and not something complicated like H1, even that is a turn-off for US recruiters!

Better to get citizenship and then leave for US otherwise you will be struck between 2 countries .

We will find a way or we will make one
