Hi,

I'm presently in the process of applying for PR satatus. My question is this, how feasible is it to applying for higher studies after getting a PR sataus. I would assume after I get my visa I would be a canadian. Would the fees charged be less as compared to international students?

Secondly I have a degree in architecture .How feasible would it be to apply for MArch or any other related course.

Any feedback would be greatly appretiacted.

SNAth :D (now why did i smile at your nick...you will never know ;) )

Okay to answer your question

1.) yes fees will be less when compared with International students

2.) You should check out McGill University. They have an excellent architecture program. How far will it help you ..Well I dont know..You can always utilize your time in Canada to gain your citizenship and then,,,you know what to do :D

thanx ottawa_nerd ! I'm assuming u are smiling at my nick 'cause u know it from somewhere ?:) does sumanth nath ring a bell ?

Anyways thanx for the reply .Has anyone attempted to do something like that ? Arrive in Canada with a PR status and then applied for higher studies .Would realllly appretiate their experiences.
Why do u think it may not help ? Are'nt canadian degrees valid internationally or is it difficult to find a vancany in that particular field ?

Well , as I said..you will never know..Maybe I should send u a PM explaining the fact :P

A canadian degree is very useful in getting admission to the USA... Not to sound boastful, but it should be a cakewalk.
Having said that, you should also realize that "architecture" in its present form is meaningless unless you can show something dramatic in it. For example, coming up with a novel idea of improving the design of "environmentall friendly" homes...utilizing sunshine, solar panels....

Yes arriving as a PR in Canada and then pursuing u studies should help. However, you should be prepared to invest time and money in the program..else you will be frustrated. I have seen ppl come here as PR's and pursue their studies.

Vacancy may be a problem..but as I said, I am not aware of jobs in architectural design...
