Hi,

I want to know about some good summer camps which you all know or have experienced for your kids. My kids are going to be 4 yrs and I was interested in sending them to a day camp (8am.-4.00pm). We don't live in Canada but will be visiting for a month so the preference was for a camp with transportation facilities. Any suggestions?

Are summer camps good for kids or just waste of money...this is our first time...I really don't know if they are worth or not.

Thanks...............Jona

If you are coming to Toronto, then the YMCA camps link is : http://www.ymcatoronto.org/en/camps/day-camps/dates-fees-assistance.html

There are camps offered by the city of toronto as well, but the level is not so great as these YMCA camps. However, they are cheaper...still a better alternative than to have kids at home doing nothing. They are for residents, non-residents are accepted subject to space availability (which is not possible) and also there is some additional charge. You may want to check the following link for more details : http://www.toronto.ca/parks/torontofun/index.htm

All the best.

Hiren

Thanks Viggy and Hiren,

Can you please assist me in choosing a location too? From all of these four listed below which will be the nearest to down town? Last time we visited Canada we stayed at an apartment building on Queen Street very near to Eaton Center. We plan to rent the same place...which of these YMCA center will be closest to us?

Kanata Y
Carlingwood Y
Metro Central Y
Orleans Y

Thanks........................Jona

Also note that YMCA's have a family membership plan...you can use their facilities including gym/pool etc where applicable. Reduced rates are available for members for their camps, ski lessons etc.

Hi All,

I think all YMCA programs start after 5 yrs. That is what I could figure from the links, my kids are 4 yrs don't know if they'll be accepted or not. Any other camp ideas? Please share if you know anything.

Thanks......................Jona
