I am not sure how many of you had this kind of Experience in Canada

That's why I am writing
Its about Pizza Hut. It happend in Calgary in NE part where mostly South asian shops are there.

One nice evening we went with family members to this so called PIZZA HUT
Since hardly few people was there, so took table & started chatting

Found even after 10 minutes, nobody come to inquire & giving Menu Card
My family got anxious & child went near billing counter & collected Menu Card from Lady
During those 10 minutes, found Lady was going to different 2-3 tables, giving them Menu Card as well as taking orders

Anyway after menu card, we were ready with our Order.
But again another 10-15 minutes, nothing happen

So decided its enough & left the place. While we were leaving, that Lady saw us. But nobody ever bother to ask us why we are leaving?

Just for ur information, in that Pizza Hut, there were only two staff members
One Lady who was doing everything while another person who was actually preparing Pizza's

Now my questions are?
Whats wrong from our side? Its just a skin color or something else, as we found customers Lady was giving service was ALL Canadians

If they don't have enough staff, is it customers FAULT?

I am writing this as I found some members in this forum always support Customer service by this so called Canadian Companies
They (other than South Asian) are equally POOR or Worst in some cases

Any comments?

Hi

Sorry to hear about your experience. This is what you could have done or could do now

- Tried to draw the Lady's attention that you are ready with your order
- Approached and told her that we are ready with our order and if there is any reason for not taking our order and taken the food out without leaving her a tip
- Should have gone to her and told her that you are unhappy with her service and attitude and that is the reason for leaving
- You could have taken a small video of her going to the tables of other customers and not attending your table
- Now you can write a letter to the parent company of Pizza Hut at http://www.yum.com/default.asp with your experience and ask for an apology

Just one question because I have never been to a Pizza Hut (for that matter any such Pizza joints) do they really cater to you at the table or is it not self service (at least to order the food) ?

I have been to Pizza Hut for Buffet Lunch & Dinner here in Toronto, but all the time & in all the Huts they have treated good.

If I were you, I would have done same - walk off ... but not without talking.

But I have a Question - In almost all Restaurants here in Toronto they say "Please Wait to be Seated", even in Pizza Hut. Did you wait or just walked in? I have found that they come with Menu Cards and walk you to the Table. I never have to wait for Menu Card after reaching the table.

If you did not wait then may be she was giving you back (I am in no way supporting her actions). Follow the Link provided by IceBerg & write your experience there ...

You said it is a south indian community. So its not skin problem! Is'nt it?

May be both new guys (immigrants) are hired recently and do not know much abt customer service. You should call them or make some noise to have their attention towards you.

Anyway you missed pizza and more importantly you killed your mood.

I'm not defending anyones actions here, I just wanted to post some of my experiences with bad or poor customer service...

I remember one time my hubby and I went to Kelseys in Brampton for lunch...we "Waited to be seated" for about 6 mins and still nobody came. I always thought there was someone who was supposed to always stand there to welcome you and seat you, ie the 'host' but that person was nowhere to be seen...so we walked out.

Another time we ordered Pizza Pizza and waited an hour and half for it to arrive...the customer service rep was so unhelpful and we decided to boycot Pizza Pizza and never order from there again...that was almost 3 years ago...

Another time my husband went to the Via station and had forgotten his coupon for a discounted fare on his ticket. As a frequent and "Preferred" Via 1 traveller he asked the guy at the counter to go ahead and make an exception to which the guy said no, he couldn't and "shooed" my husband out of the way...at which my husband (who is in the retail and therefore a big advocate of great customer service) became extremely infuriated and complained. He didn't really expect anything to happen but about 2 weeks later, someone from the company called to personally apologise to him!

Thanks everyone

Just to confirm, PIZZA HUT is not self service , they cater at table

Also that PIZZA HUT was in Community where mostly South Asian people stays
but that doesn't mean its not an Skin color problem
Then why she was serving only other people?

Even if its newly hired employee, but such service is not expected, correct?

Does it really make any difference even if I write to Mangement?
