I just want to know that do we need to research beforehand what vaccination are to be given to our kids/ouselves when travelling in summer or winters to India or any other country because there might be a different set for different parts of the world.
If I go to my family physician and tell him where we are going would they tell us what vaccinations we need?
Yes, you should visit your doctor at least 4-8 weeks before the trip so that you have enough time to take the vaccinations and develop immunity when your trip starts.
Yes, Doctors will Prescribe all necessary shots for you and your kids.
It takes normally one week to immunize body after primary immunization so it is better to make appointments 3 to 4 weeks ahead.

If you want to do something for our country, just dont support corruption or be part of it
If you possibly can you should do the hep shots about 8 months prior to your trip as they are given in Month1, Month2 and then the last shot 6 months later.
But if not, its not a big deal- the last shot can be taken after you come back.

Besides Malaria and Diarrhea, shouldn't a child have had all the necessary immunizations right from birth (ex: Hep) per immunization schedule dictated by the medical gurus of the province? Why special immunizations again?

Hep A and B or the Typhoid vaccine are included in the child's normal vaccine schedule in Ontario.
Sorry I meant to say Hep A and B or the Typhoid vaccine are not included in the child's normal vaccine schedule in Ontario. I missed the 'not' in my last post.
