howcome...they do exchange garlands(Jaimala) and hold hands.They hold hands during 'fere' and groom holds bride's hand at the time of 'doli'. Revisit your wedding album ( if married obviously!).
Well by the time of jaimala and phere, ghodi with ghodiwala were gone far ..So I personally had no chance of running ...LOL ..
Sidenote : Where I come from we never holded hands during the whole marriage ..During phere we were tied through saree ..
