Credit on owner paid school and property tax in Quebec

Hi,

I am inprocess of filing tax via ufile.
I am owner of a condo unit and living there for last 3 years and paid up municipility and school tax.My question is can I get any credit on my tax return for my prperty tax .
I live in Montreal so tax rule could be different from other province.

Hi,

Here is a link to the page in Quebec tax system. Please check your current guide (which is for the year 2007, supplied to you or pick one up at a Post Office) and see if it mirrors what I have given as link.

In there you will note what the Municipal taxes are and they are listed there in which you can add up and come to the grand total. All of these are considered as Property Taxes and merit a refund based on the salary level or the bracket that you are at.

When you go through your Ufile, it will ask for all of these. Most of these you can substantiate with the taxes paid and the bills that you have marked with their stamp "as paid" by them.

I want to casually ask you how did you go about the same in the past two years? Did you claim these or failed to do so. If you did not claim them, then, see if you can go back three years to claim the same?

I had not claimed the credit in prior years and came to know about this from one of my friend recently.I checked the link but couldn't find out the salary bracket guideline there.Could you please help me to get the salary bracket?With mine and my wife's jointy income I don't think would be qualified for the credit but would like to be sure

I got the salary range in ufile.Like I was expectinf I won't be able to claim...
