Thnx for your reply..thats sounds good to ears JRF.Are your DBA friends studied n always worked in canada/india etc. What are your thoughts on guys with zero canadian experience does it really matter?
Might like to get in touch with you or your dba friends once im in canada so i can pass on my cv if thats ok.or if you can refer me some good headhunters that will be great.
Thnx for your time once again
I am a IT Manager working for a $100MIL Company. My major Skills are ERP + DBA.
You can get the Salaries which are being mentioned only once you get Canadian Experience. Also if you are lucky. You can never get that kind of a Salary when you are new to this place. You need to understand that Canada is a very small place. Currently US is not going well and Canada get highly impacted by US economy. On top of being a small place there is a huge infux of immigrants into Canada which makes the Salaries go lower. I have 3 people working under me and I tell you the way we hire / look for people.
Thanks.
They are like you, educated in India, worked in middle east. I can pass the CV to my friend, No problem.
Also start collecting the recruiters contacts, it is the key and then ofcourse use Monster.ca extensively.

Id like to add 2 cents here - in evry job market there are segements , different jobs and companies and different scope of work . Generally we get what we search for and are willing to accept subject to the time , demand and market conditions .
In other words , if an 80K deserving candidate will acept a 60K job , dont blame the job market , unless you have searched hard and for a sufficient time (2-3 months) .
