Friends,
I am in toronto for last 3 yrs but now planning to move to calgary next month - need some suggestions
1) will my OHIP cover me for my 1st three months there?
2) I am still having G2. Is it better to take G here & then move or it doesn't matter because in anyways I have to give road test again.
3) Can i drive there with G2 till i convert my license?
4) Anybody has any idea how to get their car moved via rail or by auto movers....any link or reference/contact#.

-- Get G in ON if possible. Then you can get a full AB licence. And u do not have to take road test again in case you have a G licence from ON.

This should have been part of your basic research b4 you decided 2 move. FYI..health coverage is available from first day of landing in Alberta, even for new imigrants.

If you can drive in US and Europe with G2, you should be able to drive within Canada too...

I think you can convert your ON G2 License into a Class 5 Operators License if you have had your G2 for more than 2 years. Call Service Alberta and double check with them, I am not 100% sure about this.

-- He is not a new immigrant. For immigrants moving from other provinces, your previous province covers you for the first 3 months and then Alberta coverage starts.

i will be taking G test next week. But still not sure how to ship my car from here. I am not interested in driving it to Calgary.
