Hi Folks:
My one year old son has a minor medical problem. He is undergoing treatment since last 6 months and doctor in Dubai asked to continue the medicine he prescribed till he becomes 3 yrs. At two months interval he needs to undergo blood test to see whether the medication is in effect. We are landing on Feb. 3rd week and we do have all the medical reports. This problem was diagnosed few months after the medical check up for immigration.
Can anyone in this forum advise me for my following queries:
1. I must buy insurance to cover 90 days waiting time of OHIP and I would like to show all the documents to insurer. Do they cover for my child if the case is of minor type but pre-existing?
2. How I can communicate to OHIP about this problem, considering I don't like to hide anything and I have full detailed medical history.
3. Do OHIP will cover this case or I have to cover the expenses of this treat ment till end ?
I would highly appreciate any advice in this regard.

Hi Rajcanada:
Thanx for your reply. Immigration authority does not know this development as it was detected 3 months after the medical test. I am carrying the medicine recommended by the doc. in Dubai but I would like to consult a doctor over there in Canada for a second opinion. I guess that will not be covered by insurance.
I didn't inform this development to immigration authority as we did get our visas stamped long before this development arise. Should I?
Any advice how I should proceed further!

Hi,
I have a very bad experience with visitor medical insurance in US and I think they are same in Canada.
They are interested in taking premium checks and when it comes to pay they will point out either not covered or pre-existing.

I agree
