I hope they realize that age and reflex do not go together and pull them back graciously from test cricket before they had asked by their spectators.

At last, sports is reflex related, you had your time, you were even sufficient time to get into your form if you really were not but again there is a limit.

They should switch to Tennis or Golf if they think they should continue fighting, nothing wrong with that but you shouldn't cost your presence to others.

Why not? Do you expect Yuvraj, Rohit, Raina, Robin, etc. to do better against MM spin. Don't forget the recent Asia Cup final.

It is true that indian team should give chance to others too to play, so that they can get exposure to play test cricket. May be rest 1-2 player in a series and give other younger players a chance. It won't be good for the team that suddenly Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly, Laxman, Kumble retire together.

After seeing and considering the last one year performance it is high time Dravid and Kumble should hang their boots from all forms of cricket including T20 IPL. Any further continuation will only bring disrepute to their outstanding career record.

As Sachin and Sourav still capable of winning/saving matches and considering these two last one year performance, a life line may be allowed for one more year.

This way it is more logical by phasing out seniors in batches to groom youngsters.

Selectors should also be given credit for taking bold decision of dropping Robin pure on basis of form and including Virat Kohli in ODI team. Irfan was given another lifeline purely on the support of ODI skipper Dhoni who also has his own team within Indian team.

Though I for one feel Yusuf Pathan is a better bet than Irfan for the all rounder spot and a fifth bowling option considering Sri Lankan/Pakistan pitches and Irfan's pace.

Similarly Shreesanth is much better than Munaf and Praveen Kumar considering all aspects of the game.

Cheers!

Absolutely! Infact they should not let selectors to do this job rather they should quit.
With so much experience between them, I am surprised they have not been able to handle Mendis (with all due respect to his bowling)! I agree he is a tough bowler to judge. But this can be used as excuse for 1, 2 or three innings. But this is the 5th inning and they stil struggling to tackle him.
Infact, they didn't have answer for even a rookie like Prasad. Unless we try youngters in test matches we will not know how good they are in Test Matches. Full confidence on the likes of Raina, Rohit.
Why can't we groom Piyush Chawla as replacement for Kumble?
Learn from Ishant! By the way Ishant has so far played 8 Matches have played 12 innings. He has been out four times. His average is about 19. Reason he plays with straight bat.

If Dravid scores a century and Laxman scores mroe than 50, they will be retained for future tests because "they played well in SL". Ultimately it boils down to the selectors as Jimmay Amarnath termed selectors as "Jokers".

There is a word around that Dhoni is reluctant to play under Kumble. Let's see how long Kumble will last. Chawla and Ojha are good prospects to replace Kumble. Y Pathan is an allrounder and needs to be given a chance. R Uthappa is a bit wayward. R Sharma and S Raina, if given chances, will do very well. And there is always Yuvraj Singh to bat in the middle order.

If that happens then Team will be in good position and bowlers will have something to bowl at. Unfortunately Ishant is not available - he will be missed not just for his bowling but for his batting as well. He has been batting quite well against SL - even in that Asia Cup Final.

At the beginning of the series Sachin had just 170 odd runs to knock off to become the highest run getter and it would have been befitting his career if he had done that with one double ton like Shewag. He managed around 95 runs in 6 innings in this series. Hope he gets atleast the remaining 75 runs in one innings. There was a time when the ball was pitched in the line of the stumps, we knew for sure that it will be a boundary . Nowadays, Sachin's bat gets hopelessly entangled between his limbs and body. May be he should enjoy the freedom with which Shewag gives room and swishes his bat.
