Hallo,
I've been asked to update doc's in support of my app. for federal skilled labour p.r. Which doc.'s are accepted in support of relation in canada.
I am sending :
1.Copy of citizenship card of relation in Canada
2.Copy of passport
3.Copy of landing papers
4.Educational certificate
All or most of these have fathers name on them.
For Indian relative I am sending passport copy with fathers name.
Now, which document should I send to show that my relative is still in Canada? Something like latest telephone bill, credit card statement would suffice or something else is needed?
Also, should I request my ralative to have all the copies attested by notary or oath commissioner in Canada or self attested copies will be enough?
I'll be highly obliged if someone can answer,
Thanks & Regards,
Jethro

"Support" Stands for financial support. Here is a small excerpt from their web site:
"" To be a sponsor:
* You and the sponsored relative must sign a sponsorship agreement that commits you to provide financial support for your relative if necessary. This agreement also states that the person becoming a permanent resident will make every effort to support themselves. Dependent children under age 22 do not have to sign this agreement. Quebec residents must sign an “undertaking” with the province of Quebec—a contract binding the sponsorship.
* You must promise to provide financial support for the relative and any other eligible relatives accompanying them for a period of three to ten years, depending on their age and relationship to you. This time period begins on the date they become a permanent resident.
If you live in Quebec, you must also meet Quebec’s immigration sponsorship requirements after Citizenship and Immigration Canada approves you as a sponsor. For more information... ""
Besides the points that you have brought up - 1 to 4, the person who is providing you support here in Canada, will have to provide Financial Statements, Bank statements, and Notice of assessments for the past few years to show that he is a tax payer and has the ability to support you.
It will be appropriate to get them attested or notarized by some one in authority.
Hope your sponsor will provide you with all of these documents for you to get the five points that you will need to score. ( He/ She is the supporting relative or a friend) Also ask them to provide you with a letter stating that they will be there in case you need this support.
Hope this helps you a little.
Freddie.
