There seems to be an internet scam spreading between the business , usually it comes in as phone call or email saying that our client is interested in buying a domain similar to your business and they are planning to register it and if you would have any problem with it

usually if you own canadiandesi.com they would probably say their client is interested in getting canadiandesi.info or .net

they if you are interested you can buy it otherwise their client will buy it

Beware - Internet Scam - Thu. September 4 10:35 am
A warning today from the Stratford Police Service about a possible internet scam. Police were contacted yesterday by a local business owner who had received a call from a company called Vertex Solutions in London, England. They claimed an unknown person was trying to secure six internet domain names linked to the complainant's company and have them go straight to his e-mail address. The company advised the local businessman that he could secure the domain names himself for a cost of 100-Euros each plus some additional costs. The complainant secured six domains, at a cost of approximately 14-hundred dollars Canadian. After completing the transaction, he had doubts about the whole process and advised Stratford Police. Police tried to contact the company at the phone number provided but were unable to get through. Since the company in question is located in the United Kingdom, police say it makes it very difficult for local police to investigate. The Stratford Police Service is warning local businesses and Volunteer groups to be aware of any scams that maybe going on in our area.
