Do you guys really believe that the president post is of no importance ??? Have you ever been in a position of leader or a manager or sr. manager with atleast 10 people working under you ?????

I guess not. That’s the reason you people don’t even know what all problem you need to face when you have to lead a team. And the most problematic situation is to lead a team of experts & intelligent people & to work as a team with them knowing that you are the leader.

To Sanjeev

I totally agree with your friend that true Americans would never ever like to see a non-white as US president, but my belief was totally proved wrong during last couple of months wherein Obama is leading all the polls.

I am voting here for McCain & the sole reason for doing that is, I don’t want to see Obama crying along with the whole country later on !!!!!

One mistake from him during his tenure would again take this skin color issue to the nation & would be chewed to death. All the coming four years he would face question about his nationality & dignity towards America if he fails to achieve something during his term. May be the people voting for him right now would be easily carried away to another side by one mistake from him & might regret their choice, making Obama’s life miserable.

Did we allowed a non-Indian (Sonia Gandhi) to be the PM of India ????? Noooooo

Imagine Sonia as a PM & a small mistake by her would create a havoc in India with the help of opposition. But again we are talking about America & as we all know ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN AMERICA

So in other words, if you were to be elected as the next president of the US of A, it'd be the same as if Obama or McCain or Joe the plumber were elected. :D

You'd just sit in that big comfy chair in the Oval office, play pool in the white house basement, spare a turkey on thanksgiving etc etc. all the "real" work would be done by the subordinates.

Hi Cds,
Couple of days ago, I was discussing this issue, as you know this is one of two current hot topics, off course the other one is economy;) with a friend. My friend, who have worked and lived in USA for 6-7 years, said: McCain. To me, it was a great surprise. Everyone is saying Obama, polls are saying Obama, world is saying Obama and he said McCain.
His argument (based on his experience while living in USA) was: World has been divided into two parts - White world and non-white world. These Americans would never ever like to see a non-white as US president.

I thought of doing a poll on CD.

So what do you think? Who will win US election?

Barack Obama

or

John McCain

Think they call it the Bradley effect or something...where white voters react one way to polls but in actual voting, change their mind. Its a real possibility, but only time will tell because this has never been put to test at this level ever. The joke going around is they didn't call it the "white house" for nothing :-)

Jokes apart though, I'd like to give Americans more credit and think that Obama will be elected as per the polls. Won't have to wait much longer to find out.

Is it not that the Americans elect their own President? So if Americans would not like to see a non-white president how come they would elect one? That is democracy my friend. If a section of people do not like him, so be it. Well a larger section of voters did not like GW to be the President but he became one.

So by your logic, is Obama a "non-American"? I just fail to understand you point here. Did India not "allow" her to be the PM? That is crap. She by virtue of being the leader of Congress has more extra constitutional powers than a PM would have.

Define "true american". What does that mean?
The rest of the post makes no sense unless we understand what you mean by that phrase.
