I am trying to put an over head fluoroscent tube light in the ceiling with the help of screws which should go in first .... It seems to be concrete and my normal drill machine does not go throught it easily ..... Are there any other ways that I am missing on? - Just need to put in 2 screws in the ceiling ..

I dint know there were concrete ceilings in Canada... I recently installed spot lights at my place, but mine wasn't a concrete one... Anyways, check this out...

Use carbide tipped bits. You can find them at Canadian Tire.
Hi Friends,
Yes; Meghal is right and I will try to complete that.
With that special concrete bit, you will need a plastic GITTY with threads inside it. After making the right size hole in ceiling, push the GITTY in it.
Sizes of screw, Gitty and Bit should match. Before you start using bit, make a small mark with rotating punch to get the exact location and it will also avoid slipping of bit. An electric drill will be more useful.
Hope it helps.

Thanks a lot Fellas ,
I was trying the same method last week albeit w/o a carbide tipped bit ... and then when the plastic casing did not hold (as the hole was nt deep enough ) I wondered if there s a better way ...... will try again and post an update ...
Otherwise TKs suggestion is also acceptable .... only thing is that the fluoroscent is designed to hang rather than be wall mounted but I am sure that upon a closer look I should be able to improvise . Thanks .
On a sidenote , is there some amalgam like m seal available which I could put in these not so deep holes so that they can hold the screws ..... appreciate your suggestion ...
