Recently, I went to the online website of 6 immigration firms and submitted my pre-assessment application. Based on their assessment and confirmation, I signed up with all the 6 firms in Canada for immigration to get more information and understand how the firm operates and how the firm would proceed with my case.
Since I signed up and entered all the detail information needed, the firm had everything they would want to know to proceed with my case. After I got confirmation from the firms, I signed up by using my VISA card paying $550 each. So far I am down $3300(money is not an issue). The only reason I signed up is to know how the firm would proceed with my case what are the legal aspect which should be looked at, what are the different thing which the firm takes into account when preparing your application.
I am sorry to say - out of 6, 5 firms have disappointed me. Applying for Immigration is a one time decision and Signing up with an immigration lawyers services is very critical as everything depends on how the application is prepared and submitted. There is very little or nothing which can be done, after you have submitted the application.
I am having very hard time trying to figure out the right lawyer/immigration firm. One of the firms in Quebec was very professional and explained me in detail how my case would be filed, legal aspect when filing the application. They had solid references and even got a money back guarantee from the firm (I thought this was normal but not the case with other 5 firms). The firm even sent me a link to their private massive database which has almost all the information one would ever want to know about immigration-and the specific country(India in my case) related information. The only fact that the firm is in Quebec and they have few desi cases make me hesitant to sign up for their services as I am not planning for Quebec immigration. [But it does seem that I would be in good hands if I go ahead with their services].
Anyone, who had a good experience with immigration/lawyer services in Canada please email me the lawyer name or firm detial at Please do not post the names [here] as we do not want to de-fame anyone. Your help would be highly appreciated.

If you could have given me just half of this amount then I would have come to India , met you there in person, filled up your form, explained you all the legal/illegal aspects, had given you a booklet of 200 pages about the life in canada, shown you the photographs and filed your case by hand!!!
If you can Read/Write/Speak/Understand English, then probably, you don't need an immigration lawyer............all you need is PATIENCE.........complete the formalities, submit the form to CHC and relax! Keep posting on CD.com

I fail to get the part where you paid 6 consultants to simultaneously file your papers. Why?
I'm just a bit lost here, can you clarify?

Are you there?
Naresh,
If you ever need a seventh application submitted let me know .
I'd be glad to file it for you.
Maybe our resident expert (Masood) can help when he returns from vacation. However Sanjeev is right, you can do this yourself. Unless you are too busy, of course, then it makes sense to pay others to do it for you.

Why do you need to spend so much money and efforts searching the right lawyers and so,
Lot of posts have mentioned the website for canadian immigration
If you read the entire application download , i guess you should be well able to file up the application by yourself, all it requires is making of a TO-DO list and collect the documents
I agree with someones response that 3300 would be a big waste, you should have utilised that for some good reasons.

Just a quick follow-up note:
Currently there are no registered members of the CSIC.
Government is implementing new Regulations in April and at that time those consultants who managed to become members of CSIC will be able to represent applicants.
