My Daughter is a High School Student. She has no Income . ( Never Worked till now). She will be attaining age of 17 in April, 2009. Is there any benefits for her to file Income Tax return? As per CRA website, it is advisable to file it if you are attaining age of 19 by 2010 to claim GST/HST credit. My daugter will be attaining age of 18 in Aril 2010.
Please Advice.

Currently they are being taught in their schools about the Income taxes also and how to go about it. So, it is not some thing new. But since they do not know the implications of not filing, it is best that you help this time. Also give the dead lines and the other help that she can get from the websites and clinics that are conducted in your neighborhood from time to time. Also tell her the locations where she can get free web based filing system through the software available on the net.
