Descriptions: QA TECHNOLOGIST

JOB PURPOSE

The candidate will support Multimedia and Certification team efforts in delivering to the market latest technologies.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Engage in new products testing and reporting findings
• Reproduce customer reported failures on Desktop or Notebook systems that utilize AMD/ATI ASICs or Chipsets.
• Enter problem reports into a tracking database for Software Engineering via EPR entry in Remedy (AR System)
• Assist Continuation Engineers on software debugging
• Assist in the creation and organization of test cases and associated documentation
• Support Multimedia and Certification team efforts in various projects
• Assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• Maintenance of the team intranet website

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE RCUIREMENTS

Required:
• Mechanically inclined, able to assemble and disassemble computer systems.
• Familiarity with installation of system BIOS, display drivers, applications and operating systems.
• Must have sound practical experience in computer troubleshooting/repair.
• Be organized and punctual, self-disciplined
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong initiative and self-motivation and team player
• Ability to work under strict deadlines

Assets
• Driver development lifecycle
• Understanding of CODECs and playback protection schemes
• Knowledge of MS WHQL requirements and testkits
