They did not make an offer and go back on it ... That would have been unethical ..............
You may have written a nasty email but have gained nothing .... Instead lost a prospective opportunity of there was one coming.
I once was interviewed and tested by a Company and they told me that things looked good and they would get back in touch with me ....... I waited , in the mean time I got another job ..... They came back to me after 4 months and asked me about my availability and expectation ....
When I upped my expectation by 25% they were surprised and remarked ' But at that time you had asked for so much ' ......... And I replied back - ' But with in that time and the present certain things have come up and that s why the change in expectations ...... ' ... They got their response ...
Bottom line --- nobody waits and they do not need to !!
There is no difference between you and the employer who wanted to offer you. lol.
Did you achieve anything by telling them you want 25 % more? Nothing. You lost a prospective employer too if you have done in that way.
In my case, they kept waiting me for 3 months so i have evry reason for telling them that they are unethical.
But in your case You should have informed the company already that you got hired by another one even b4 they call you and offer. You too were unethical? Canadian employers taught you like this or what? LOL
canada at snail's pace...No sir unless u r referencing yellow knife
if a company NEEDS to fill in a position, it will be filled ASAP (whether in Canada or India) in private sector. all of us who got their jobs got it because ut had to move like sprinter not a snail
if a company opens a position but due to multiple reasons (perfect candidate not found, interviews not done etc etc) is unfilled by a certain time, management "eats" up that position for another department.
so, perhaps the scenario matches the latter argument.
"Canada a pathetic country for skilled immigrants" -- TRUE in large part. but the reality is all "developed" countries have become pathetic because they send jobs back to india
i say the above based on my managerial experience in IT (canada & india)
Hi,
You are lucky if you have got yourself an IT managerial job immediatly after your arrival in Canada. Atleast you can be the one person who was not under utilized of your managerial experience gained in India.
All skilled immigrants are under-utilized after they have landed in Canada. Take any case of skill. Whats the time duration spent after arrival in Canada to get into the one's same field?
I dont see any urgent job requirements here. A staffing agencies takes sweet time, the recruiting company does an HR screening after a sweet time and by the time it goes to the next level, 1 month or 1.5 is over and the job may or may not be existing by then.
Whats the motive behind a presentabilty check by the staffing agencies ?
Can phone interviews be done for the 1st, 2nd rounds and a face-to-face meet before joining the company on contact or for permanent position ?
All this is ridiculous, a waste of time.
yes i agree that it takes a lot of time for many to get a job in chosen profession. i myself spent 4 extremely anxiety filled months before getting a break..demand is more than supply and thus comes in the staffing agencies.
staffing agencies know that there are lot of immigrants in that pool of applicants and who ever needs to be interviewed by the company is expected to pass the staffing agency "test".
but rest assured there are urgent jobs and sadly for immigrants like us these get filled by internal referrals these days...the hidden job market
I read your mail and the hosts of our friends here. I am sorry, you have over estimated Canada.Whatever your qualification in India and subsequently acquired one in abroad , like CPA or whatever ur field, does not matter.I am here in Canada for more than 5 years. While I was lucky enough to work in my filed for 75 % of my time here, most of them are otherway. My considered opinion is, if you are male, and looking for office work, it is possible, yes it is possible, but during the maternity leave of a female employee.U should have net work. U should have canadian experience. Don't ask me, how u can get one, if u r not having any job.Nobody cares.Otherwise, u may land in Canadian brand warehouse job.Fellow Indian will not help u so easily. They want u to go through the same level of suffering as they did. Still, even if you are able to get one, at any time, u may be fired from ur job , part time or full time.No reason. Since Canada is a advanced economy, and more democractic, none of ur employers will openly tell u any reason for your firing. Ultimately cheap and best rule here. Not ur merit. Still, Goodluck.
I am surprised this actually worked for u. Usually companies dont like to discuss reason for rejection.
Hence rejections are sent by email

But I called back the Human Resources Manager, asking her politely the reason of rejection - I convinced her of my Experience and dedication to work for that company. She called me back for a second interview and I was accepted. I did work overthere for 7 yrs but has to resigned as we have to relocate.
Not necessarily a rejection is sent in many cases . Persistence pays off and may be taken as a positive trait in many jobs esp sales .
Personally know of a guy who was not given any response for a full time job and he would go to the recruiting Manager a while and then - upon seeing his persistence , the Manager relented - gave him a full time job in stead of the contractual norm - this person has been with the Company for 10 yrs now and earns 6 figures .
