Hi Everybody,
I am a civil engineer...working in project control(Planning and scheduling) for an american company in abu dhabi...I am preparing for my PMP exams and hope to clear it by next 3,4 months...I would appreciate if you can provide some details about the job scenario for people like us.I have an experiance of around 10 yrs in civil infrastructure projects.
How is the salary structure and the job availability for civil infrastructure projects. Is it very difficult to pass the PE license exam..is it really required?
Please provide some insight.
Peace..

I am not in Canada so i do not know much abt job market.

Regarding PE test. its not that tough .... u have to practice a lot with sample problems and you are good not go.. if you fail once next time sure u will get it.

This opinion assume u were a good under grad students... no 100's supple .. got engg admission with u r dad's money and all.

one more thing i would like to point is u would need to get u r degree valuated as it would be an international degree... which could be a pain...

other thing is you need 4 yrs experience under a PE which might create an issue...

so u r main worry shld be abt these rather than test

Sifarsen,

Below are the links for some of the Professional Engineer lisencing bodies in Canada.

For Ontario http://www.peo.on.ca/

For Alberta http://www.apegga.com/

For British Columbia http://www.apeg.bc.ca/

You may search Canadiandesi using P Eng or Professional Engineer or PEO to find personal experience of CD members.

You may get your degree evaluated by World Education services, University of Toronto or similar organisations. But P.Eng licencing organisations do not recognise evaluations by WES etc. They do their own evaluation.

Thanks Erra for your information. I have all these web addresses which you have mentioned..but rather wanted to know about the degree evalutation process. As for the PE exam, I guess there are some institutes which provide some training classes for the same. I think it will be easier to pass the PE exam if I enroll in some professional training institutes and take the guidance.
Thanks for ur help....peace
