Alberta was booming when oil crossed $100 to $147. Now oil is at $50 and falling. Oil sands is possible only when Oil is above $60.
Alberta once had $ 8.5 billion surplus and has burned off $6 billion in 3 months. They are now left with $2.5 billion surplus.
Think of all the people who were employed in industries when oil was above $100 and now all these people will be looking for alternative jobs.
So do your proper research. Can you afford the cost of moving to start anew in a place which is currently struggling.
did you research to find out that Civil engr'd can get a job in Alberta? Civil is a dead field more so for Immigrants and it will be hard for you to get the break without further cdn. training.
hope this helps

Peace by TK

It may be better to drive.
Weather is not particularly bad [yet] and gas price is cheapest in over 5 years.

You are right. I faced 4-5 interviews, we met, asked general questions and told me that will get back to you. But ...

Even I was fit in the job description, they just saw me and asked questions.
Also I provided some good reference (desi-videshi both) but no luck.

I will plan to move to Ontario next summer.
