Please help us with your suggestions for moving to Alberta. I am a Civil Engineer by profession and presently living in Mississauga and trying for Civil job from last 6 months, but not sucseed so now i am planning to move Calgry or Edmonton. Please suggest
Alberta was booming when oil crossed $100 to $147. Now oil is at $50 and falling. Oil sands is possible only when Oil is above $60.
Alberta once had $ 8.5 billion surplus and has burned off $6 billion in 3 months. They are now left with $2.5 billion surplus.
Think of all the people who were employed in industries when oil was above $100 and now all these people will be looking for alternative jobs.
So do your proper research. Can you afford the cost of moving to start anew in a place which is currently struggling.
did you research to find out that Civil engr'd can get a job in Alberta? Civil is a dead field more so for Immigrants and it will be hard for you to get the break without further cdn. training.
hope this helps

You are right. I faced 4-5 interviews, we met, asked general questions and told me that will get back to you. But ...
Even I was fit in the job description, they just saw me and asked questions.
Also I provided some good reference (desi-videshi both) but no luck.
I will plan to move to Ontario next summer.

happily holi day!
