For that matter, one has to be blind as a bat to say there is no racism anywhere. Take India and Indians. Hypocrisy might as well have been coined with us in mind.

I am not denying there can be such instances here in this nation. As stated earlier, I have been a victim but you really have to question the way media brings this to light. If we all realized the origins of the word, today is witness to its very diluted form. Even if the article's intent was noble and was aimed at contributing to elimination of racism, we are all only human. You will mutter something within the confines of your home, within the confines of your car against another race and then soon jump on the bandwagon to fight it and be a martyr when it is pointed at you.

Canada has been ever so accepting of the influx of immigrants. Lets not judge it based on a newspaper article.

Canada is a great country.

They give us a chance to be part of a nation.

A chance to be a citizen. Our kids get citizenship when they are born. (Try that in some other countries)

You are not given a chance to work, when their is no jobs NOT thrown out of the country, your passports don't get seized by overzealous employers (except, Ruby!).

Freedom of Religion. The prime minister (from another religion) opens one of the largest temples.

They didn't say, Canada was Prefect.

But its Great country.

Although I have never faced any discrimination based on my colour and race, I would be living in a fools paradise if I believe Canada is not prone to the racist attitude towards visible minorities - at least when it comes to finding a job.

Don't want to believe me? Here's a new study to support my claims:

Just because I am living in heaven, doesn't mean hell doesn't exist...
