I know this reply is delayed but i hope someone will be able to make use of it.
I had difficulty locating a stamp pad & didnt want to waste money to buy it for 2 thumbprints...so i tried using an eyeliner 'pen' & it worked perfectly well!!!
no mess & it washes totally so my baby's thumb was clean to put in his mouth.

If the eyeliner pen didnt work, i would have used the eyeliner liquid which also washes off well.

I was quite happy with the result & the impression was pretty clear. I made one tester impression & then the final 2 prints. Just make sure to 'colour' the thumb evenly to get a perfect fingerprint.

I have 8 years old boy and for his thumb impression I just used his blue colour pen (sketch pen), rubbed on his thumb and got impressions..
