That is why pharamaceutical companies test their drugs vis a vis placebo to see their effectiveness. In placebo group, there are a good number of people who get well by taking the placebo (they are told it is a medication).

Some of this confusion around homeopathy stems from the definition of "cure".
Homeopathy is expected to stimulate the body's own response and immunity system to cure the condition.
It is based on the belief of "like cures like" and works by gently kick-starting the body's own healing system.
That system - and the various immune systems - A, G, H etc. are only a part of that- is not very well researched and understood by modern medicine.

Just as the critics of homeopathy claim that it "doesn't work", the critics of allopathy can equally claim that allopathy "doesn't work".
Just look all around you - millions of people suffering from modern diseases like diabetes, heart conditions, blood pressure, various emotional/psychological conditions, etc. such that once inflicted, almost never recover fully.
They need to keep taking allopathic medication life-long from that point onwards.
So the answer depends on how you define "cure" and how you define "works".

Even with allopathic medicine, our beliefs and conviction play a major role in healing.

Not taking a shot at you personally, but I think that is a load of BS. Medicines work or don't. Else we'd all get by taking some placebos and conviction.

Homeopathy is placebo? :)

And what is "today's science"? Pump more chemicals? You think Merck Frost and Pfizer are going to let "alternative medicines" come to the fore?

If homeopathic medicine can come up with something potent than the blue pill, why not? ;)

If you are convinced that homeopathy works, that is all that is required. At least you save yourself from chemicals and their side effects. Scientifically there is nothing in that medicine though. It is very difficult to convince oneself when one reads how their medicines are made and their philosophies. James Randi offers prize of $1 million to anyone who can prove that homeopathy works.

Allopathic medicine has its own drawbacks. It is based on symptom management and chemical correction of a process. It does not address the why a disease ocurred in the first place. As for the cure, there is more money to be made managing a disease rather than curing it.

Homeopathy has been a success for my whole family for the last 35 years. My biggest ailment - Sinus was cured by this medicine - 100%. When I was severely suffering from sinus a few years ago in India, Doctors(Allopathic) recommended me a nose operation (duh...). However, I discontinued their advise and got on with Homeopathy for the cure. Now here I am - Sinus all gone. Am I happy? Oh Boy! Yes of-course. Never had any side effect. So, for me and my family this works like heaven.

Ah well, if you knew the time it takes for Homeopathic medicines to kick in, I think you'd fall back on the blue pill...at least just for that purpose :D

Hi there,

I am a Homeopathic doctor from India. I had finished my Degree in Homeopathy from Calcutta University and my am in this field from last 10 years.
I was going through the answer given by some people above ,some agree with homeopathy and some mention it as a placebo, some had said as science less treatment.
Well whatever you guys had mention ,it's all about how you look at the object or the person.
or maybe you get some wrong information about Homeopathy
I totally don't want to make a comment on that because it is your personally way.
I am letting you guys know there is always fight between good and bad.
There is a verbal war going now inbetween Homeopathy and other pathies of treatment esp. allopathy
People had asked me about the Homeopathic and allopathic.
I just have to say that it is a safest gentle way to cure because it is experimented on a healthy human being not on the cat ,rat or any other animal.
Secondly there are some rule to be followed by the doctor before they treat the patient.
Thanks
