I am with TD Molex for my car insurance for last few years
Happy with service & premium
I recently added my wife's name in my existing Car Insurance
My wife has Driving Licence first time in life ( not even in India )
I added her as an 'Occasional driver'
TD molex told me " without any extra premium " her name can be added
Good, wow !
But when I asked for any paper or documentation, they said NO NEED
TD Molex says she has to carry my Car Insurance papers & if at all involve in any accident/ticket etc, police will call me first to confirm if I own this car, insurance etc..
Is this the normal practice with any insurance company ?
Why they don't issue another paper with her name also like bank account ?
Any comments ?

Thanks Ben
But TD Molex is not sending any paper or pink slip ( which we called Insurance slip ) which shows Car Insurance is also on Wife's name too
That's why I am surprised
So now everytime wife is going to drive car, she has to carry Car Insurance slip or paper which is under my name

Hello everyone...
I had another question about Car Insurance...as anybody removed the collision coverage cost from the insurance and have been involved in collision?
I just removed this from my car insurance. Although it has got me substantial savings in the premiums, my wife is scared as to what I have done is right or wrong in terms of if I ever happen to be involved in a collision..
any fellow desi would like to share his story or experience?
thanks

Hi,
'Collision portion' of your insurance covers you for any 'at fault' accidents meaning if you hit the car in another car, you are at 100% fault and your car is total loss you won't get anything since you have no collision coverage but you would still get the accident benefits and medical benefts. BUT if the accident is not your fault, you will get the car repaired or the money because not at fault accidents are covered under DCPD portion of your policy.
So try to avoid any 'at fault' accident.
Remember: Single vehicle accidents are 100% at fault accidents mostly and insurance companies do not consider anything like: Weather was bad or road was slippery or it was snowing and I could not see the road and hit the railing etc. etc. etc.
