I liked the cartoon insert and the transitions between the images and also between the interviews with the accountant and the people. The sound was consistant throughout. Nicely done. What software did you use to create the movie? I think both the movies do a good job to showcase your production and direction skills.

Both Videos are good...........
Keep it up and all the best for future........
I'm for the HST and also for the Feds to raise the GST to 9% so that they can nullify the ballooning deficit so that it does not hang as a sword into the future of our children.
There is no point in carrying current problems into future and also a single point tax would make the taxing, collection and also managing far easier than the two different tax monitored and collected for two different sources/uses.
The market forces decides the prices and as the taxes come into effect the prices will dip to offset the tax added. If a product is of such value then people will definitely pay the extra to obtain it.
As a socialist country where the objective is keep everybody on the same level and not a rich few to enjoy like in Capitalizm in other words \"Live and Let Live\" this would boost the quality of life for underpriviliged and less affluent.
Currently eventhough we are on the same continent as USA we still pay higher prices for the same products in comparison to that of USA(even while we have near parity of the USD to CAD). Hence many companies who use the reason that we are operating in a smaller market of 35 million versus 350 million to raise prices should be forced to operate to the benefit of the people.
As we discuss the long distance rates to India through Rogers or Bell is nearly 6 cents a minute while many an US companies offer it at 2 cents or lesser.
Why the greed ?.We can go from product to product and find this kind of trend.
We cannot protect home grown companies against globalisation. We need the market forces to dictate the prices. One of the key issues discussed in this documentary is the real estate prices. The prices of homes are ridiculous high currently as there is no proper justification for those high prices but only justified by greed by many for quick profits in a short period. If it was home ownership it is a different story. Look at the condo projects in GTA and all the realtors standing in line to buy the initial openings with a minimum downpayment and then selling it potential buyers who lands up later. This bubble cannot be prolonged as the debt carried by many a canadians is so high that most of them are living on borrowed money and not on savings. How do you break this cycle of spending someone's money for immediate gratification is by taxing this cycle. Once price goes up people will rationalize their needs/wants and splurge their money wisely.
Already Flaherty has warned the Canadians about such high household debt it will be a big bubble and when it bursts everybody will get drowned.
With this HST, increasing mortgaging rates and also with higher downpayment the choice of living from paycheck to paycheck and renting versus home ownership will be better decided than rushing to buy a home based on a realtors words of \"why do you pay someone elses mortgage?\".
My 2 cents on the above issue.
In regards to the second documentary it was a very good attempt. I wish I had seen more diverse ethnic/status of people represented than downtown GTA. In reality when a white person spends a $6.50 on a health drink(fruit juice) while how many desis will spend such on a fruit juice. Hence I wish it could be an open ended piece where the 33% who support this HST like me could have been represented also. In any documentary I feel we need the people to decide the debate than making a concluding statement like the last slide of arriving at your wallet July 2010. It might mean that there is a preconceived agenda on the part of the maker of the documentary.
We need to have both the sides of the coin discussed than one side of it. If more information could be given on the impact of the extra dollars on the Canadian economy as a whole than on our wallets, than people could have seen the greater good than their personal loss.
My 2 naya paisa on the documentary.
But Kudos to you for making this start of a good discussion and expect more of discussions(another Michael Moore in making ?) on other issues.
Some other topics for your consideration:
1.Where is Canada heading in the near future ?. Manufacturing hub, Innovation capital or a Giant Warehouse ?.
2.The sham of immigration - the many ways desis are screwing up the immigration system to land in Canada.(Eg: Brother marrying Sister to reach the shores of Canada).
3.Is Canada a true multi-cultural country or a pretending to be one ?.
4.What is the future for the Whites in Canada with exploding immigration from East Asia?. Should be a balanced views from whites and other ethnic people.
5.Should Canada promote Ice Hockey as its national past time or should have a relook at other sports with immigrants adding it to numbers?.
Good Luck and God Bless !.

Sunny Leone a true Canadian DESI now back in India !.
2.The sham of immigration - the many ways desis are screwing up the immigration system to land in Canada.(Eg: Brother marrying Sister to reach the shores of Canada).
not limited to desis- even people from other countries do the same.
also document the bogus degree scam.
documentary on The 'on money' scam to get jobs perpetrated by immigrants.

Quote:No it won't. People will simply end up paying more for day to day consumption items.

Quote:Sure, if so, then why stop here? Why not keep increasing the taxes until to the point where there is no need for prices.
If a product is of such value then people will definitely pay the extra to obtain it.
