I want to ask fellow CD how to change online broker from "TD Waterhouse" to "Scotia I-Trade." As TD is charging too much commission.
How will my stocks go from one to another?? Is there any transfer fee???
If any fellow CD has done it before, Please let us know important points to watch and any other relevant information.
Thanks in advance.

It is easy to do.
You need to a "transfer-in-kind", which ensures that the securities will be transferred without having to sell them and re-buy them and incur a profit/loss.
Fill out the form at the receiving institution and let them deal with it.
Registered account are slightly different and have different forms but they should all be available on iTrade's website.
The current institution will probably charge a fee anywhere between $25 - $100, but that's pretty standard.
It will also take some time (at least 3 weeks) since the relinquishing institution (TDW) has no interest in processing it faster so be patient.

Your transfer fees should be reimbursed by scotia i trade if ur transfer value is over some amount . Check their threshold and check how much they will reimburse.
Transfer fee should be $125 + tax.
cheers...
