I was looking for my options for a part time job. ( I work full time from 9->6). Becoming a real estate agent seems like an attractive idea. Going through OREA site, I see that fees for becoming an agent are about $1500. And then you have to find a brokerage before starting your own.

My question is: How much time does it take to setup enough contacts to sell atleast one property for new agents. Working part time, can I expect earning 20-25K a year. (I made some bad moves while coming to Canada and now I have about 25K debt. working part time will allow me to get rid of this debt.

What other opportunties are good for part time job ?

As long as you have desire to make money, no one can stop you.NE field is good if you work hard & smart.

Don’t put expectation for certain money - if you wanna take RE as your future career then think of building relationship on long run ( money will flow after that)

Usually, New RE agent needs min three, four months to get foot on the market – its not easy job as everyone think, lots of running around and updating skills – but hard work and good com skills always pays at the end
