I registered my number few months ago in the no call registry on the following website
https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/insnum-regnum-eng
But I still receive calls from 1800.. numbers and sometimes from unknown numbers. All calls are from telemarketers.
What action can be done?
There is a section on the website where you can lodge your complain. You need to provide the name of the person who contacted you, company he/she was representing/ date time of call and the phone number.
I have complained many times but calls keep on coming, esp for the long distance call to India and duct cleaning.
Once, a guy called me saying that he was representing the do not call registry and wanted my feedback on their services. I replied that I wasn't comfortable talking on phone and he should send me something by mail.

But I do receive calls from 1800.. numbers. If such calls can come from country like India, then what is the use of no call registry as most of the service industry is in India now.

If you did not get anything in mail, that could be people selling craigslist verified account. They will create a fake account on craigslist, put your phone number, verify it when you give the code to them and then sell that craigslist verified account.
