Hello! When we have some free time we are always looking for things to do .. either go for overnight, 2 night stays or have just a day and want to spend it doing something useful. So please suggest things you have found worthwhile. Be as specific as possible .. e.g. mentioning a specific park or specific cottage. Or maybe a farm you liked visiting, or a lake, or a nice flee market. Anything you enjoy doing that you would like to share. If this gets going I will coordinate the list and add them to Google maps.
BELOW IS THE OBVIOUS. .. Now suggest some non-obvious (and obvious) things.
Overnight
- Niagara falls/Niagara on the lake
- Collingwood cottages (suggestions?)
- Blue Mountain hotels
-
Day trips/Hang out places
- Niagara falls/Niagara on the lake
- Toronto Island
- Harbour front area
- Webster's fall in Hamilton
- Kelso
- Botanical garden hamilton
- ROM - Toronto
Half day Visits:
Art Gallery Of Ontario
Black Creek Pioneer Village
Ontario Science Centre
Zoo
University of Toronto tour (I believe they used to offer this at some point)
Other things you could consider:
Picnic at parks/ along the rivers (suggestion: Jack Darling park, Centennial park, and Guelph)
Volunteer your time as a family at a foodbank or some other local charity
Catch a play/performance- music, ballet, dance
Attend every fair/parade/festival that comes up from time to time (Carribana/Pride/Carrassauga/Sugaring/Sanata Parade etc)
Not sure if this meets your definition of useful...
