This question should have been in Real Estate & Mortgages section.
Brampton is very big City and experiencing tremendous growth. Baring a few areas, it is a safe city and it is just too difficult to suggest an area without knowing vital parameters of your search/requirements. Nevertheless, here is my opinion and I would focus on some of the best areas: Steeles/Financial Drive (Streetsville Glen), Old Peel Village & Bartley Bull Pkwy. (Steeles/Kennedy), County Court, Vales of Castlemore, Springbrook (Queen/Mississauga), Bovaird/Creditview & Bovaird/Worthington, etc. Exclusion of any area in the above list does not imply any negative opinion about the area.
Specific response require more specific information.

We live at steels and mavis, very close to mississauga border. So far love the locality.
We are staying in Brampton -Springdale- Dixie and Sandalwood area for more than 5 years and we just love Brampton ! Even my 3 year old son says \"Brampton rules\".It is a great place to live and raise the family.Prices are still affordable, schools are great , many recreational opportunites the list is endless. It is just great ! Recently it is developing very fast and many desis are moving to Brampton. I am selling my present house but will be buying another one in Brampton only. Brampton rules

I have been living the Queen/Torbram area for the past three years in the "G"Section. This is considered as one of the older parts of Brampton, known as Bramalea. This area is still dominated by the older, blue collar white families as it is 5 minutes away from the Chrysler plant. With the economic downturn, I am seeing an increase in these families moving away to areas such as Georgetown and desis gradually moving in. The only reason I moved to this area was because of affordability (detached was available around 300K), otherwise my first choice was western Mississauga (Erin Mills/Winston Churchill around the 403). Property values have held up in the past three years, which is not unusual for properties that are in this price range.
I am neutral towards living long-term in Brampton. I am not too enthused by the amenities, transporation, shopping malls etc having lived in North York for over 5 years, previously. My friends and relatives who are closeby are not too happy with the schools in my area. My kids are too young (a preschooler and an infant) so am not really bothered about their schooling, but would definitely consider moving to Mississauga in the next couple of years.
