Just to give update to everybody. I passed my G2 exam in Oakville. I have a few errors only like my steering is incorrect when backing up, not really perfect in my parallel parking though I did not hit any traffice poles that they put up. My parallel parking practices was so perfect but when I did on the actual, I could say it's not perfectly done because it has no curbs.
Second, I was too slow in some areas and the 3rd error was in the FOUR WAY STOP. There were 3 of us in that stop, one on my left going straight arrived first and theres another car on my right going straight while I will make my LEFT TURN in that Ford Drive. I thought that I arrived first than that car on my right so I did my left turn at once after 3-seconds stop. My examiner told me that the guy on the right came first. Well, I still PASSED the road test.
Things they let me do: 3-pt turn, parallel parking, street parking and front parking in the office when we returned. I passed two railroads three traffic lights and that's it. Time was so short just like 15minutes road driving.... Just be familiar with those roads and you will PASS. So this is my first take and so lucky... thanks for this thread, it helped me a lot reading your experiences.
Mine G2 test would be in Aug, in Bramption, let's see what happens, I am dying without car, cant walk all time.
Hi All, I was browsing through a few archives about G2 driving test in Oakville and came across this. I am due to give my G2 tomorrow and here is what I keep telling myself time and again; can you please take a look and see if I am missing anything? Thank you so much.
1. Keep scanning the mirrors often.
2. check left, center and right at intersection.
3. Slow down near railway tracks, check and go. (I failed last time in Guelph. Apparently I sowed down too much which resulted in impeding the traffic).
4. make sure to check blind spot while changing lanes.
Is there anything I am missing? Is there anything specific I need to know with regards to G2 in Oakville?
Thanks a ton.
No suggestions for me?
Watch your speed as although i passed at Guelph, the examiner marked me for being too slow...
Also when your checking left n right ..make sure you turn your head as if you were doing a head exercise
Make sure that you studu the drive test area thoroughly as my instructor took me thru the exact roads that the tests r conducted n believe me ...it helped a lot!!!!
cant think of any more...right now..
All the Best ...

Thanks a lot for your response. Actually, I couldnt go to the test route because my instructor believes that as a student, I should be able to pass on any road . No matter how many times I requested, he refused. So, I do not know which route I will be taking. I am feeling very antsy since a week because of this test (due tomorrow).
The pass rates in Oakville is less than 50 %. You are not allowed to practice around that area and a number of signs warn you and instructors there with hefty fines. Ask your instructor to take you around without a sign board. There are 3 or 4 different routes they can take you on.
Generally inner roads are narrow so need to be careful specially turning in short distances. All the Best.
