Is there a need to do jewellery appraisel for people coming into country as first time or returning resident?

we are moving to toronto & wondering if anyone had done this before or if it necessary in first place?

Its always a good idea to get this done ... For one , you can declare @ POE the value of goods brought in and they would continue to be your non taxable assets .

In case of burglary / break in / theft , you can use this valuation as a proof of value in case the place is insured .

There are Authorized Valuers in India who can evaluate and appraise jewelry piece by piece ...
