Am planning on moving - around 22nd of December to Vancouver - I shall be there for 6 days and return back without the PR Card and SIN Card.

1) I have seen http://www.sunnynewcomers.com in toronto - any such services in Vancouver area? Please give links.

2) Upon landing - I plan to give an address for the PR Card to be sent there - I hop this is OK and I can leave after 6 days even if the PR Card does not come.

3) While there - can I apply for the SIN card? will that also be sent to the same address?

4) I am not planningon opening a Bank account or Getting Insurance etc done as I am returning in 6 days and finally moving in April 2006 bag and baggage. This trip is just for the PR Card and SIN Card.

5) Anything else I can finish during this period? Which can help me?

6) Anyone - moving from Calcutta that period ? What Airline are you looking at I enquired with Air India - they are quoting INR 55k !!! Now thats a steal I must say - any other cheaper sectors I can look at ? Please advise.

Its better you give address of a friend or relative who is reliable. Its advisable to get PR and SIN card before leaving or give address to whom who can send back your precious documents.

Not much since u will be staying for 6 days.

I have been in Surrey, BC for just 2 mths, so I cant provide with much details.

The Questions is once you land in Vanc canada, how would you come back next time without a PR card? You are not allowed to take commercial carrier once you have utilised your Single entry permit, although you could come by rental car or so through US

Make sure you have a proper re-entry permit before you leave
If you are assuming that your PR card would come through and someone would fed-ex you then you might need to think of what if situations as well, i fell into one of these and want to aware you of it

I got called for PR card interview(although they just required me to sign the app) but still..it was easy for me since i was in US, however if u r in India then u r in lurch

Please let me get this cleared.

I am moving to Vancouver for 6 Days as I also need to give sufficient notice period leave my job here and other priorities and finally move in APRIL 06'

So I plan to flydown with my family and move into a temporary accomodation (similar to sunnynewcomers) or whatever and then once I am out - I will post online the address where the PR Card is to be sent. (I hope this is the process)

Next Day I shall myself go in an also apply for the SIN Card and provide the same address.

My problem is - I landing in Vancouver but my friends place is in Toronto. So can I provide the Toronto address? While I apply in Vancouver?

Next When after six days I leave - presumably I will NOT have the PR Card nor the SIN Card with me. But they will be sent via courier to me by my friend - whose address I shall be providing.

Do I need to mention this to the immigration when I land - or keep shut about this? I hope once I have my PR Card and the SIN Card - these will be enuf for me to get into Vancouver - in April - when I really do make the final trip.

Any tips - please share - am having palpitations just thinking about the process - how to go about this.

U need not disclose ur leaving Canada after 6 days as it does not have any relevance .

I think YES u can provide a Toronto address but wud wait others 2 confirm this .

U can leave Canada after 6 days after filling in ur SIN card and PR card Application . Hopefully no complications.

PR / SIN cards are VERY important documents. Avoid receiving them by courier .If u have sm1 coming over that will be better.

You can use any address as long as its within Canada

Let me tell u my case, i applied for SIN/PR card and returned back to US, 4 weeks later i received a letter that i need to appear in Vancouver for interview, i was in US i drove back and did that
