A question for non-Christians - How does it feel if somebody wishes you a merry Christmas?

I had two unpleasant experience at work when I greeted fellow desi employee on christmas. One said that he does not celebrate Christmas and other fellow mocked at the greetings.

I still do not understand why people find it so offensive to be greeted during Christmas or find the Christmas tree or anything to do with Christmas so offensive . Anything that was Christmas has now turned into holiday, and people have greeted me "happy Holidays" since I am not a Christian (one more )

I believe that even though Christmas is associated with birth of Jesus, it roots might be lying more with the nature - winter solstice, just as Thanksgiving or Diwali are associated with new crop. Just because Christianity abhors pagan rituals, Christmas might have been associated with birth of Jesus.

So for atheists/non-believers/non-Christian CDs on this board - wishing you a happy Christmas
