Guys - Here is the agenda for the second meeting. It is basically the same as before, with one addition. We've increased the time from 2 hours to 2 and 1/2 hours, i.e. the meeting will be ending at 5:30 pm.
We're going to have a speaker who is a prominent member of the community giving a speech and hence the additional time.
Also, the venue this time has a backup in case of the weather acting up. We will be informing registered members of the actual venue via email couple of days before the meeting.
Anyways, here is the copy of the post from the other thread with due modifications.....

Hello Canadiandesis,
Over the past few weeks, we've all been brainstorming on how best to organize the 2nd meeting such that it is a productive as well as a fun event. The basic purpose of course is to discuss what we hope to do for the desi community in Canada via CanadianDesi, however the event also enables us to meet each other in person, rather than just online. It'll be fun putting a face to those id's .
Taking into consideration all of the much appreciated suggestions and ideas from members, we've come up with the following plan for the meeting to be held at Biomed's place on May 1st (rain day being May 8th)
--> START TIME 3:00 p.m. SHARP!! -
Please try to arrive approx.15 minutes before 3:00 so that we can all settle down by the time the meeting starts. There is no official dress code, however it would be nice if people dress in traditional garb, just to add to the atmosphere. No compulsion about this however.
Members will be asked to register as they enter, so that we can get a headcount. They will also be handed a folder with the agenda and a sticker on which they can write their name/ID and attach to their shirt.
All official proceedings will be in English.
--> 3:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. -
A short inauguration speech by the host Biomed briefly laying down the purpose and the structure of the meeting followed by individual introductions from all attendees. No long speeches here, basically just name, online id and a couple of lines regarding where you’re from and what you do.
--> 3:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. -
We will split into about 4-5 smaller groups with one or two moderators each. This idea here is to discuss one on one everybody's viewpoints on how we can do more with CanadianDesi. Besides the website, we're hoping to branch into volunteer services to help fellow-desis in need, both the newly-landed ones and the ones who've been here for a while. It would be nice to get suggestions from people regarding this and input on how they can contribute to the cause. Time permitting, we can also discuss our personal stories that would help others.
--> 4:00 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. -
BREAK TIME. Yee haw!! Snacks and soft-drinks, plus some casual conversation...
--> 4:15 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. -
Moderators will speak about the points discussed in each group briefly so that we can create ONE agenda out of the various ones.
--> 4:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. -
Speech by a prominent member of the community (This time slot may be switched around)
--> 5:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. -
Discussion regarding the not-so-serious activities, the picnic (which has generated a lot of interest) being top on the list. Like Chandresh mentioned in his earlier post, we can also discuss organizing sports leagues and other fun activities, your suggestions are most welcome.
Followed by closing remarks.
----------------------------
As far as contributions go, they are voluntary. We will keep a collections pot and people can contribute whatever they’re comfortable with. Judging from the response in the previous threads regarding this, I feel quite optimistic that everybody will do their little bit, but again, there is no compulsion in this regard. This should definitely not prevent anyone from coming.
Anyways, this is basically the framework of the meeting plus or minus any minor impromptu changes. Hope to see you all there!
