Ladies & Gentlemen:
It was a great pleasure to be in that room with all of you at 7300 Yonge last Saturday. I was disappointed that I couldn't hang around to chat with others and to have a proper follow-up discussion with the Team after the main meeting. The main culprit was snow and time difference. I was delayed flying in and had to rush to the airport.
However, I did achieve the goal that I set out for. I wanted to show my full support to this project and it was worth flying during the night and flying back the same evening. I think I spent approx. 4 hrs in Toronto but it was well worth it. [No, I'm not crazy].
I knew that the first major meeting was going to be a 'get-to-know' gathering and taking of pulses. I was very impressed by the turn out [the quality not the quantity] and the willingness of people to help. ... for free, although I recognise that the free help may later turn out to be a good investment for many. So be it! But first, we need to see who GIVES.
Chandresh:
Thank you and congratulations for chairing the meeting and keeping the focus narrow. Masterful!
Jake & Biju:
Sorry we couldn't spend some time together. Thank you for making the painful journey.
Rashmi:
Thank you for your kind words. I think it's time to have the SUB-COMMITTEES section and then as and when it happens, create a new sub-section like
'Airport pick-up & Initial Accomodation';
'Apartment hunting';
'Temporary Jobs';
'Occupations' [and under Occupations, you'll have different professions with all info relevant to that particular profession - from registration, regulation, to job prospects]
And each sub-commitee will have a group of people responsible.
My few thoughts ... I'm sure more will follow.

I feel unfortunate not be there, as I was busy. But I am willing to host another meeting of Canadian Desis sometime during summer. I live in Malton , I am sure everyone knows this community. Although my house is not very big but I am lucky enough to have very big back yard which can easily accommodate around 100 people. We can arrange as a big outdoor picnic. Of course there won’t be any money involve in this. Let us make it happen once again. Let me know if people are interested.
Thanks and regards.

Hi Guys,
I am glad to know that meeting went successfully. It's a new start for CD. I am rooting for it.
As I am away in US, couldn't attend the get-together.
It's amazing that so many of you decided to meet in January, by far that's the coldest month in Canada.
All the best for your future endeavors.
