I needs some advice on the validity of Canadian visitors visa issued from India. My in-laws plan to visit us in summer, however they plan to stay in Australia to visit someone for 3 months prior to coming to Canada. If they take visitors visa from India, would it be valid for 3 month. I know that there is a validity period of the visa which is affixed on the passport, within which you have to take entry into the contry (Canada). How long is the validity printed on the visa by defacult? Any idea?
Can we ask for a visa to be valid for say 4 months so that they are able to come here without going through the hassel of applying in Australia (chance of denial is high!!) or coming to India to get it.

Normally, visa is issued with a validity of at least 6 months. The norm appears to be 1 year validity, if lucky, 5 year validity. I doubt you would have the option of requesting validity period.
